Aidnik faces a felony murder charge, plus enhancements for being a previously convicted felon, and a misdemeanor resisting arrest charge.
A man who allegedly killed his mother last month in Rio Vista pleaded not guilty Monday morning in Solano County Superior Court.
At his latest proceeding, the 58-year-old Aidnik was represented by Deputy Public Defender Jeannette Garcia and was denied prior felonies and enhancements. Deputy District Attorney Ilana Shapiro has previously represented the DA’s Office. Solano County Jail records indicate Rio Vista police officers arrested Aidnik at 5:30 p.m. May 13 in the 500 block of Birch Ridge Drive. He was booked into jail without bail early the following morning.
Officers then discovered the body of a 78-year-old woman inside the home. She was later identified as Aidnik’s mother, according to Mazer.
