Charlotte Hawkins gets emotional when interviewing one particular guest
Charlotte Hawkins broke down in tears as she interviewed police officer with Motor Neurone Disease on Good Morning Britain this morning. The GMB presenter was overwhelmed with emotion as she was speaking to West Midlands Police officer Chris Johnson, who was on the show with his wife to speak about how he’s coping with the illness and his plans to continue working in the police force.
Charlotte then asked how Sharon and Chris’ children, nine year old Harry and 14 year old Katie, are coping, to which Sharon replied: “Harry doesn’t know. Harry just knows Daddy’s not well, he uses breathing machines through the night and he can’t run around and play football like he used to. The 44 year old presenter’s dad, Frank Hawkins, died just a month before her daughter was born in 2015.
“He knew, himself, that something was wrong and I think he sensed that it was something serious… when he finally got that diagnosis it shook all our worlds.”
