Luton Town midfielder Luke Berry is having a medical at Charlton Athletic on Tuesday ahead of joining the club on a free transfer,Berry, 31, is a free agent upon the expiration of his contract at Luton at the end of this month and Charlton have moved to agree a deal to bring the player to The Valley.
The former Barnsley man played a key role in helping Luton win promotion to the Premier League in the 2022-23 season.He made 20 appearances in all competitions last season, chipping in with two goals and three assists. 17 of those outings came in the Premier League but Berry started just two of a possible 38 games in the top flight last season as Luton were relegated.He joined the Hatters in 2017 from Cambridge United and has gone on to make 184 appearances for the Hertfordshire club, notching 26 goals and 17 assists.Join the Football Insider WhatsApp channel to get all our exclusives and the breaking transfer news FIRST.
