"Very friendly owner met us when we arrived with a wonderful loaf of bread milk fruit juice and other essentials even a bag off treats for our dog. We will be recommending this to our friends and family and hopefully will be going back soon." Another added: "A beautiful cottage in a quiet and idyllic location. Spotlessly clean and well equipped for all your needs. Perfectly situated for visiting this part of Devon or just relaxing and getting away from it all. Excellent hosts for this property. Lovely dog walking area too. Will definitely be returning!" A third said: "This cottage was delightful. It was smaller than we thought but plenty big enough of the two of us and the dogs. We had everything we needed and the owners were on hand to help if needed. We had everything we needed for the duration of our stay. A loaf of bread, milk, some biscuits and chocolate was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend a stay there." While there were no negative reviews, one visitor did note: "I would happily stay here again... if I had anything to add it would be a stair gate would be a useful addition, as nobody wants dogs upstairs, so I had to put my cases at the bottom to stop them venturing up to the bedroom." Another who was impressed with the quality of the accommodation, suggested that the addition of a simple porch would be beneficial for storing wet, muddy clothes and cleaning dogs after long country walks. Despite these minor critiques, the overwhelming consensus remains that Dove Cottage is a hidden gem in the heart of Devon, offering a tranquil and high-quality experience for anyone looking to recharge in nature.
