The latest Which? monthly price comparison has found the budget supermarket the cheapest option for a third month this year.
A monthly price comparison has officially revealed the cheapest supermarket for March 2024 - and Aldi has once again held onto its crown.
The monthly price comparison compares the average prices at eight of the UK's largest supermarket chains. The latest results found that Aldi shoppers could get a large trolley of 71 items for £121.06 on average across the month of March - saving £37.46. According to Which? its latest comparison involved a large trolley of own-brand items, alongside items from some majorly loved brands including Hovis, Dolmio and Heinz. Special offers were included, but any multi-buys or two-tier prices for loyalty schemes were not.
Aldi's winning streak for 2024 so far comes after it was awarded the title of the cheapest supermarket for 2023. Taking the title for a third year in a row, Which? found that the supermarket was the cheapest option for 11 out of 12 months last year, making it the cheapest overall.
