Reports suggest six Premier League clubs face a race to sell players before June 30 in order to avoid breathing profit and sustainability rules
Profit and sustainability concerns will remain the hot topic in this coming transfer window and time will be of the essence for some clubs. The new financial year arrives on July 1, meaning annual losses currently set to break the rules need to be salvaged before the end of June 30.
Sky Sports News has today reported there are six Premier League clubs that will need to ensure sales are completed before the end of June to avoid risking a breach. Recent points deductions have underlined how seriously clubs must take these financial parameters put in place by the authorities. The broadcaster reports Chelsea, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Everton, Nottingham Forest and Leicester City must address their projected losses before the financial year ends. The report does not explain how much capital each clubs needs to raise, but if it is accurate, those clubs will be vulnerable to bids for their best talent.
