EXCLUSIVE: Chelsea hope Mauricio Pochettino can help Mason Mount sign new deal | alex_crook
Academy graduate Mount was Chelsea’s official Player of the Season for the last two years after breaking into the first team in 2019.
However, the midfielder has struggled this season, scoring just three goals in 24 Premier League games and losing his place in the starting XI.
It has been suggested the Blues will cash in on homegrown talent this summer to balance the books after spending £600million since the arrival of co-owner Todd Boehly in May 2022.It is understood Boehly has held face-to-face talks with Mount and hopes the possible appointment of Pochettino will persuade the player to agree new terms.
