City residents last week made passionate arguments against the decision to add even more to Chicago's sum, arguing the money is needed elsewhere.

“We need that money in my neighborhood,” one attendant said during a Wednesday meeting. “I’m asking you to use our tax money for our people." “All these people are coming here, they cleared out these prisons years ago,” a second resident added. “They don’t want them there, they don’t serve them a purpose.”“Can anybody tell me how many migrants we got outside the city of Chicago?” Alderman Anthony Beale asked during the meeting. “We don’t have any. They’re all in the city of Chicago because the rest of the county, the mayor said ‘no thanks.

“If you cut off the funding spigot, they wont come,” he continued. “As long as we continue to fund this problem, they’re going to continue to come to Chicago.”touted his decision to cut back on $45.9 million worth of expenses as the city deals with its ongoing influx of migrants.
