The deactivated sexual assault cases scandal has now been reviewed by Internal Affairs and the public will be briefed by mid-May.– The controversial Internal Affairs investigation into Houston’s suspended sex assault cases scandal is done.
The scandal broke on February 16 when Chief Finner announced he was appointing a team of investigators to look into thousands of sex assault cases that were suspended “due to a lack of personnel.”reporter Diaz, Chief Finner eventually admitted a slew of criminal cases -- 264,000 -- had actually been deactivated. Those date back to 2016 and include the sexual assault cases.
