Liverpool have an embarrassment of riches in attacking areas but one of the main points of scrutiny up front is Darwin Nunez
Liverpool have made a winning start to life under new head coach Arne Slot. The Reds made it two wins from two on Sunday as they brushed aside Brentford in a 2-0 win as the Dutchman enjoyed his competitive Anfield bow.

Liverpool have to work around Nunez and the striker needs to adjust to work in this system as well. He is not a bad player, as his exploits for Marcelo Bielsa's Uruguay illustrate, and he offers something completely different as an out-and-out striker to Diogo Jota. As strikers go, Liverpool are few and far between, they have versatile attackers who can play across that front three but none quite as unpredictable and threatening as Nunez.
However, I believe selling the Uruguay international now would be a mistake as his value is continuing to depreciate. Just because the transfer window is set to close on Friday, Liverpool shouldn't rush into trying to sell him. Given his performances thus far, the Reds will find it difficult to get the same fee they paid for him.

There is no need to rush into such a big decision before deadline day, even with the expected arrival of Federico Chiesa, as Nunez will likely see opportunities come his way in Europe and the Carabao Cup alongside further cameos from the bench. Amie Wilson I think it’s fair to say the Nunez move to Liverpool in the summer of 2022 has not gone as most would have hoped so far. He arrived with big expectations and has not quite lived up to them and now has a fight on his hands for a place in the starting XI.
