Police have launched an investigation
A child has been injured after being attacked by a dog in Salford . Police were called to reports of the incident in Lancaster Road at about 8.30pm on Monday . The attack is said to have happened on the De La Salle Playing Fields.
The victim - understood to be a 13-year-old boy - suffered injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. Greater Manchester Police has launched an investigation and have today issued a public appeal for information about the incident.In a statement, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "We have received a report of a dog attacking a child in the Lancaster Road area of Salford on 29 July.
"The incident, which occurred at around 8.30pm, resulted in injuries which thankfully were not life-threatening. Officers are investigating and are asking anyone with information to please get in touch. "You can contact police by calling 101, quoting log 3351 of 29/07/24. Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
