A fire that closed the busy Strand Road in Derry for several hours on Monday started accidentally in a tumble drier at a laundry room at a popular Chinese restaurant.
In 2015, the Mandarin Palace suffered extensive damage in a major fire that forced the closure of the popular Derry restaurant for several months. Monday's fire forced the closure of part of the Strand Road and Lower Clarendon Street for several hours.
