Chris Billam-Smith beats Lawrence Okolie to become the WBO cruiserweight world champion
Round six saw more of the same as McDonnell warned Okolie for holding once more and then, when he stopped doing so, Billam-Smith hammered him with a series of hooks.
The champion came out firing in round eight and had his best moments of the fight since the early stages as he landed several hard hooks.In round ten, Billam-Smith found the energy for another knockdown as he caught Okolie with another left hook coming in and put him on the canvas for the second time.
Billam-Smith weathered this storm and then finished the round by punishing Okolie for his recklessness via another left hook knockdown.
