Leeds United and Burnley have beaten Sheffield United this season
Chris Wilder is unconcerned over Sheffield United's record against their fellow promotion rivals. The Blades surrendered top spot to Leeds United on Boxing Day after losing to Burnley at Bramall Lane.
But Wilder's team have also beaten three of the other five teams and would be top of the table on 50 points had they kicked off the season with a two-point deficit. “I’ve just answered a ridiculous question about results against teams in and around the top of the division,” said Wilder after the Burnley reversal.
“I’m not daft, we’d have loved to take points off the teams in and around us and Burnley were one of them today. But we’re all right. No knee-jerk reactions to anything. We need some players back, we obviously need to look at the group in January, which we’ve talked about. Sheffield United will reclaim top spot if they avoid defeat at home to West Bromwich Albion in the early kick-off today, with Leeds playing Derby County in the teatime clash.
