But how do you dispose of your artificial Christmas trees, and how do you recycle the real ones? To help, we've gathered a full list of Christmas tree collection dates to remember and how to go about getting rid of last month's prized possession. Check your local council here - and don't forget to put them out in good time. Aberdeen City Council Residents with household wheeled bins will have their real Christmas tree collected on their usual brown bin day between January 6-17. Residents are asked to put their tree next to their brown bin. You do not need to have a garden waste permit to have their tree collected. Residents who use communal bins, both on and off-street, are requested to leave their tree by their communal bins between January 6-17, allowing access for use and emptying of the bins. For addresses on or south of Beach Boulevard, Justice Street, Castlegate, Union Street, Albyn Place, Queens Road and Skene Road, collections will from January 6-10. Collections will be from January 13-17 for all addresses north of the streets listed above. You can also take Christmas trees to Household Waste and Recycling Centres out with these dates. Aberdeenshire City Council For households only, if you find yourself accumulating additional recycling and waste items from the festive period, the council's household recycling centres are available. Booking slots for bulky uplifts are closed from the week commencing December 16 and start again from the week commencing January
