Aston Villa are on the hunt for a new winger this summer and have been linked with Christos Tzolis. We examine his latest performance for Club Brugge.
The Birmingham outfit are in need of a new winger this summer, especially given the rumours surrounding a potential Morgan Rogers departure. The 24-year-old has been one of the standout players in the Belgian Pro League this season and is on track to win the title with Club Brugge.
So far this campaign, Tzolis has already netted 15 times and picked up 21 assists in 34 top-flight games, an insane record. Therefore, it is of little surprise that Club Brugge are set to demand a record fee for the Belgian Pro League to part with their star man, which currently stands at £31.25million.
However, his performance on Sunday against Union Saint-Gilloise helped to truly showcase the ability he has. Against a side that beat the likes of Atalanta and PSV in the Champions League this season, Tzolis completely dominated them, as he netted once and picked up three assists in a 5-0 victory.on 18 May, Tzolis was simply outstanding, creating the most chances at four as well as the most dribbles at five.
As a result, it is clear that the winger is an ideal replacement for Rogers, with his attacking ability simply outstanding. The Manchester City star has struggled for minutes this campaign despite only joining the club in 2025. The Egyptian forward was close to leaving the Etihad Stadium in January, but neither Villa nor Spurs were able to complete a loan deal before the window ended.
Now, the Birmingham outfit are eyeing a summer swoop for Marmoush, with their recent qualification for the Champions League giving them a boost in their pursuit. However, it remains to be seen if they are capable of completing the deal, with plenty of twists and turns expected in the transfer window.
