Chuck Woolery, best known for hosting the iconic game show 'Wheel of Fortune,' died unexpectedly at his Texas home at the age of 83.
Chuck Woolery , the beloved television personality best known as the original host of Wheel of Fortune, has passed away at the age of 83 at his home in Texas on Saturday. His longtime friend Mark Young confirmed the news, sharing his grief on X, formerly Twitter, writing, 'It is with a broken heart that I tell you that my dear brother has just passed away. Life will not be the same without him, RIP brother.
' While the exact circumstances surrounding Woolery's death are not yet known, Young revealed to TMZ that Woolery was feeling unwell and had gone to lie down. He later returned to the room and told Young he was having trouble breathing. Young immediately called 911, but Woolery did not survive. Woolery hosted Wheel of Fortune from 1975 to 1981 before passing the torch to Pat Sajak. He also hosted other popular game shows like Love Connection, Scrabble, Greed, and Lingo.
