A 12-year-old Bonita Vista Middle School student was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of threatening to carry out a campus shooting, authorities reported.
The menacing statement, texted to another student Saturday, was reported to school officials and police Monday, police said. On Tuesday morning, posts that began appearing on social media “caused fear and concern of a possible ‘active shooter”’ at Rancho Del Rey Middle School, another Sweetwater Union High School District campus in Chula Vista, police said.
