Cincinnati Reds Get Bad News About Matt Matt McLain's Rib Injury
The second baseman has been on the injured list since undergoing left shoulder surgery in spring training. The Reds were hoping he'd be able to start a Minor League rehab assignment on August 12.
Instead, that rehab assignment will be delayed. It's unclear if McLain will play for the Reds this season. What seemed likely is now for sure. Bell said McLain will definitely not start his rehab assignment on Monday because of a stress reaction in his rib cage.
