Staff at the venue said they were unsure when it would reopen

A popular Nottingham cinema has been forced to close for a second day running due to problems with its electricity. Broadway Cinema, situated in Broad Street, Hockley, cancelled all its screenings scheduled for Friday, July 14.

In a statement uploaded to Instagram, staff at the venue said they were unsure when the issue would be resolved. "Due to an electrical issue yesterday, Broadway will unfortunately remain closed today and all of today's scheduled screenings/events have been cancelled until further notice," the statement reads.

"We're still hoping to open as soon as possible, but we're as yet unsure when the issue will be resolved." Films currently being shown at Broadway include the latest instalments in the Indiana Jones and Mission Impossible franchises, as well as a 'mystery film' that was billed for Friday. The venue first closed on Thursday due to the issues, when it apologised to customers and offered refunds.

"Any tickets bought for the affected screenings today will be refunded or exchanged for an alternative screening at a later date - our Box Office team will be in touch regarding your booking as soon as our power is restored and we're able to re-enter the building. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve the issue. Please note, we're currently unable to take phone calls at this time.
