Public consultation comes after Belfast Council found to be twice as slow as it should be with planning applications
City Hall is asking Belfast citizens for advice on how to improve planning applications in the city, after an internal audit showed major planning applications in Belfast taking on average twice the amount of time allowed by statutory regulations.

The new legislation will come into operation in April 2025.
