President Joe Biden, who is 81, has tested positive for COVID, according to an announcer at the UnidosUS annual conference. Veterans Drive in Fairhope will close to traffic on Monday for the installation of a pedestrian tunnel ."This is such a beautiful entryway into our city with the trees lining the streets and the flags. We did not want to interfere with that. “We thought going underground would be more aesthetically pleasing,” said Fairhope Mayor Sherry Sullivan .

"To me, it looks like a large concrete drain that you just walk under. It will be a huge square box basically. They open up the road, they drop that in, and then they fill that in,” she said. “They will both be passive trails. One we are hoping will be biking trails. The other one will be walking trails, outdoor classrooms, bird blinds, those types of things, restroom facilities, pavilions. So, great outdoor areas for our community,” said Sullivan.
