The City of Sydney is considering development plans from construction giants Dexus and Lendlease for two towers in the city's CBD that, if built, would be the city's tallest buildings.
What's next? Sydney 's skyline could be transformed by the city's tallest-ever buildings under development plans being considered by the local council.
It would be an irregular-shaped building located on the frontages of O'Connell, Spring and Bent streets, which is serviced by heavy and light rail services. Both plans will be discussed at a committee meeting next week before proceeding to a full council meeting. "We can build tall towers in the city, we can see our skyline rise with iconic, sustainable buildings by following deep, evidence-based work that considers the current and future commercial, residential and recreational needs of our city."Local architect Philip Vivian has welcomed both proposals as an opportunity to evolve Sydney's skyline by adding "variety and height".
