Refugees have spoken about its importance

Ukrainian refugees in Nottingham who have escaped the ongoing war in their country and lost loved ones have spoken about how important the city's drop-off point for the conflict is. Last week, volunteers said the drop-off point was at risk after being told to vacate the building they operate in.

“I came here with a rucksack, a pair of jeans and 3 T-shirts. Here [at the donation drop-off point] many clothes are donated and for small children, there is toys and car seats." Ann Vickers, the lead volunteer of CityHub Ukraine shared how she felt when she was told by that a new building for them to operate in had been found. She said: “The new building is bigger than this, there are two smaller rooms and a kitchen. We’re relieved and excited to start afresh.”
