The Met Police believe Abdul Ezedi may have jumped into the River Thames Clapham chemical attack suspect Abdul Ezedi may well have ‘gone into’ the River Thames, police say. The Met Police said its main working hypothesis is that the 35-year-old likely jumped into the water and is believed to be dead. No body has yet been found and commander Jon Savell said Ezedi may ‘never actually surface’ if he is in the Thames.
‘When he has got to the area of Chelsea Bridge, his behaviour visibly appears to change in so much as he walked up and down the bridge – he pauses in the midpoint of the bridge, halfway down the bridge. ‘Then he walked to and from the side of the bridge and can be seen to sort of lean over the railings before there is a loss of sight.’ Mr Sewart added that this was consistent with ‘him going into the water’.
