Allan 'Clarkie' Clarke's 32-year tenure on prime Sunshine Coast land will end when the property's new owner gets started on a luxury unit complex.
Real estate agent Andrew Schofield was first approached by the owner three years ago.
Owner Brian Bailey says he had "mixed feelings" selling the property after being in the family for so many years.Bunya Bunya is set to be demolished. She says there is a sense of sadness about Bunya Bunya's sale, which marks "the end of an era" for the region.Ms Oulton says nostalgia connects people with old beach shacks.
"Because so many people have moved to the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast, those beach shacks are all slowly disappearing," she says.The buyer, NeuBau Group, has lodged a development application with the Sunshine Coast Council to demolish the shack and build a four-storey luxury unit block.An artist's impression shows new units to be built on the site.
