Gov. Ricarte Padilla ordered the suspension of work and classes in the province after a 4.8-magnitude earthquake on Tuesday, Jan. 17, rocked Camarines Norte.
Padilla also ordered the inspection of all buildings and rapid damage assessment for safety.
In a bulletin, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 5:57 a.m., with its epicenter located 12 kilometers southeast of Tinaga Island in Vinzons town.The earthquake registered up to Intensity V on the Richter scale in Camarines Norte and was felt in Metro Manila.
