The Clay County Agricultural Fair is officially back with its traditional food, rides, animals, and lots of fun for people of all ages.

Fairgoers also have to endure traffic backups when attending the fair during peak hours. For that reason, Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook asked people who come out to have patience and leave earlier if they want to get there at a certain time.Cook also said they added extra deputies at certain intersections heading to the fairground during peak hours to help with traffic.
The grand opening of this year’s fair was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, where dozens of people cheered as they waited to step into the fairgrounds.This year, Coleman and her friends have new rides to go on — as well as try some new food options.While traffic is typically an issue around the area, this year the sheriff is asking residents to be patient and to download the SaferWatch app.Clay County Fair staff said they hope more people come out this year because the area is growing.
