Specialist cleaners have been called in to a Lanarkshire block of flats after dead pigeons were discovered in a water storage tank room.

The disgusted resident told Lanarkshire Live: "I have noticed a lot of pigeons on the roof near where the water tank is and there has been black lumps coming out of my taps for a few weeks now.
"It's absolutely disgusting to think that there have been birds - dead or otherwise - anywhere near our water supply. I'm sorry but pigeons carry all sort of nasty germs - they are flying rats."And trying to get through to the council to get an update on the progress of the clean-up has been a nightmare - I've not been able to get through at all on the phone."
