We never get bored of these
It's been a fun-filled week at Goose Fair with thousands flocking to the annual event packed with rides and stalls selling food and drink. If you've not been to the fair yet there's still time as it runs until Sunday, October 8.
We asked readers to vote for their favourites and, when it came to fairground nosh, there was one runaway winner: mushy peas. Nothing beats that traditional piping hot pot of peas - even better with a dash of mint sauce. In second place were sugary doughnuts and third burgers. The legendary cock-on-a stick came next, followed by candy floss, carvery cobs and kebabs. Old-time favourite, brandy snaps, are still proving popular and a more recent arrival to the fair, tornedo potatoes - fried potatoes on a stick - also got a mention.
The quest to find for the most popular ride resulted in another clear winner. The exhilarating Ice Jet Matterhorn is the one that thrills visitors the most, reaching speeds of up to 50mph. The waltzer was runner-up and Big Wheel came third. The Gallopers, Atmos Fear, Stargate and Mach 5 were also voted for by readers as their favourites.
