Britain’s Andy Murray received a standing ovation from the crowd
Sir Cliff Richard famously sang his hit “Summer Holiday” to entertain the crowds after rain delayed play on centre court in 1996. The singer, who donned a purple and green stripy blazer, made his way around the stands with his mic in hand, much to the delight of spectators. After the celebrations, a full day of tennis kicked off on the court, with Britain’s Heather Watson first to play in her match against Germany’s Jule Niemeier.The stars will be watched by royal box spectators including Sir Cliff and Brian Cox.
