Another one bites the dust
Our high streets are changing by the minute, with more and more shops closing as the rise of online shopping continues to take over.
In towns such as Blackpool, things are no different, with endless numbers of shops closing as they become victim to the ongoing cost of living crisis. This includes big businesses as well, which have chains of shops up and down the country. Clintons, the high street card shop, is one such business that is disappearing from our streets. The retailer has been a presence in our shopping districts since 1968, but has announced the closures of several of its high street stores.Earlier this year, it was announced that Clintons would be shutting its doors in its Bolton and Whitehaven locations. Last year, three of its shops were permanently closed in the UK, but did not give the reason for their closure.
Over the past few weeks, it has appeared that the store on Victoria Street in Blackpool has also reached its demise. The shop has been closed and boarded up for over a week, with no sign of life anywhere around the store. LancsLive has approached Clintons for comment on the shop's closure, but they have yet to comment on the shop's future, as well as the people who work there.
