Clitheroe Food Festival 2023: when is it, what stalls are there, and when do the Red Arrows fly by?
Clitheroe Food Festival returns this Saturday and organisers are expecting just short of 20,000 people to visit the Ribble Valley town centre.
Visitors can see cheese-making, gin, wine and beer-tasting sessions, pizza workshops, stalls and entertainment. You can also sample wild game and Biltong beef, cheeses, curries, fruit and vegetables from around 90 exhibitors, the council says. Up in the sky, the RAF's Red Arrows are set to fly over the town above Castle Street, just before 2pm on Saturday afternoon.
TASTES FROM ACROSS LANCASHIRE Food producers from right across Lancashire are taking part in the festival, the council has said. Pet dogs might get a few treats too. Exhibitors include Ribble Valley Business Award-winners Millie and Ruby’s Dog Bakery. The business produces dog treats with locally-sourced, organic ingredients.
Factors considered by the council have included social distancing requirements, crowd management in town centre spots, overnight security of stall produce, the impact on existing town centre shops, park-and-ride transport, road closures and car parking spaces; and council staff and resources. But the council has defended its various decisions and activities, locally and nationally. Its other projects include the promotion of the Ribble Valley for film and TV production. The new Take That-inspired film, Greatest Days, was shot extensively in Clitheroe town centre and released this summer.
