Alfie Cookson, from Clitheroe, Lancashire, was the subject of a BBC documentary back in 2018 and became a local hero thanks to his hard work and dedication to odd jobs
Odd jobs man Alfie Cookson from Clitheroe , who gained recognition on a BBC programme in 2018 for his unique business model involving a tandem bike and trailer, claims he's come up with the "most genius idea ever" to earn money. The 24-year old, known for his dedication to community tasks that others shy away from, has taken to TikTok to share his ambitious plan for 2025.
"I've come up with the idea of collecting all the leaves and making into compost I'll sell it next year when it's all decomposed." Armed with his mum's Marigold rubber gloves and skip bags, he gets to work. "I've got two tonne bags and they reckon it's about £60 per bag," he explained.
One TikTok user praised his efforts, saying: "This new generation should take a leaf out of your book. Alfie mate, you're an inspiration." A local added: "I always wonder why our council doesn't have compost making and selling facility. Well done mate. We need loads at the allotments." Alfie opened up about his start in handiwork, saying: "I just decided to set up on my own because I got sacked from several jobs because I did stuff like falling through ceilings. I was just causing more damage than what I was earning, so when I couldn't hold down a full time job I just decided to set up on my own - so I couldn't sack myself."
