A volatile weather pattern will fuel more rounds of damaging storms and tornadoes endangering lives and property in the eastern and southern United States through the end of the week.Bernie Rayno and Jonathan Porter give an update on the next round of severe weather and look ahead to the regions of the U.S. that will continue to be at risk of severe storms heading into mid-May.
One area in Thursday's severe weather where a few tornadoes may tend to focus will be from eastern Virginia to central and eastern North Carolina. Thursday will be an active day with severe weather from Maryland, Delaware and West Virginia to Florida and Texas. "This system is likely to produce some locally gusty thunderstorms with small hail, but widespread damaging winds and hail are not likely," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson said.
