The Florida government is seeking reassurance that Hamburger Mary's in Orlando is planning on reopening.
Florida is seeking assurances that an Orlando hamburger restaurant known for hosting drag shows and other pro-LGBTQ+ events plans on reopening in another venue.Hamburger Mary's, which made national news for suing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over the 'Protection of Children' Act which banned children from attending 'adult' live performances in the state, recently announced that it would be closing its Orlando restaurant on June 2 after more than 16 years.
Florida had asked the court to allow its law to be enforced everywhere except at the Hamburger Mary's after the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals previously upheld a lower court's decision to block the law from being put in place statewide.
