Cloudy and cool today with rain for the weekend
As storm clouds pass by, beams of sunlight reflect off standing water at the Village Creek Drying Beds on July 1, 2017, in Arlington, Texas. The closed waste water treatment facility has since been overtaken by foliage and wildlife, and is a popular bird spotting location. A strong cold front has pushed through North Texas, resulting in much cooler weather today. Morning temperatures in the upper 50s will slowly push into the upper 60s later today.
Dry weather is expected today, but it will not last. Widespread showers and thunderstorms will roll in late tonight and into Saturday. The rain will be heavy at times and last for several hours Saturday. In fact, some areas could receive over 2″ of rain on Saturday. Fortunately, severe weather is not expected. A couple showers could stretch into Sunday morning, but the bulk of the wet weather this weekend will be on Saturday.Dry and sunny weather will start next week.
