“Anyone flying to Europe or Asia or the Americas at the moment realises that the prices are astronomical, so more competition and more flights on those routes will help,” Mr Dutton said in an interview on Nine’sWolter Peeters “The value of that is $500 million a year to Australians and mostly that goes to small and medium-sized businesses throughout this country, many of whom are based in Queensland. All of the tourism operators will tell you that they’re really hungry to get international tourists back because they spend money differently than we would when we’re travelling domestically.”
