Federal officials are looking to change the drug classification of marijuana, leading to potential changes for dispensaries.
BILOXI, Miss. - “It’s going to make it a little bit easier for the path to legalization however the immediate impacts it will have with dispensaries specifically is immense,” said Elizabeth Cavanaugh.
“All of our expenses we have to calculate into cost. So, by rescheduling it to a schedule three, it allows us to operate like a normal business which will bring cost down for business as well,” said Cavanaugh. “I think it’s a little bit down the road, there’s still a lot that has to happen and there’s a transitional period before this will even take effect, but this is the first step that needs to happen before that to end the prohibition across the entire country,” said Cavanaugh.
