Coleraine Coastguard have issued a warning saying the North Coast area is experiencing "extreme wind gusts."
In a bid to get to safety, the rescuers and those rescued had to "crawl on their hands and knees" due to the "phenomenal wind strength."Read more: 'Dramatic' rescue after three youths 'attempt to climb to top of cliff' A spokesperson for Coleraine Coastguard said: "The causeway coast is currently experiencing areas of extreme wind gusts.
"The rescue officers had to bring the casualties into an adjoining field away from the cliff path and then crawl on their hands and knees over the field to safety, such was the strength of the wind.
