The showrunner explained the importance of it representing his team in the Sekai Taikai, but also how he seemingly did it for nothing given he was knocked out so quickly. How Hawk Getting Knocked Out Sets Up Cobra Kai's Sekai Taikai Hawk getting knocked out in episode 4 shows just how unpredictable the Sekai Taikai is going to be as the show moves forward with the championship proper. The cast of Cobra Kai may struggle against their upcoming adversaries, including the new team run by Kreese and Kim, needing to think outside the box when it comes to how they'll approach the martial arts competition.
