Christopher, the owner of professional painting and contracting business Trihanson Development, bought the building in 2017 for office space, noting it was rundown but salvageable. He built the bar and created many of the interior elements while maintaining a 1940s vibe.The building was renovated in 2019 and includes a Tuskegee Airmen mural dedicated to Christopher’s grandfather, Charles Petty Jr., an Airmen in the 332nd Fighter Group. The mural was painted by artist Bryan ‘Prolifik’ Hickman.

Coda Rouge’s name borrows from the French-Italian word for Red Tails, a nickname for the Tuskegee Airmen, while Bar 332 is named for Petty’s squadron number.
