A decommissioned Cold War nuclear bunker in Nottingham is set for a dramatic transformation, with plans for over 100 homes, community spaces, and a restaurant.
A Nottingham nuclear bunker built during the Cold War era is starting to 'come to life' as new plans for its future are submitted. If plans are approved, city charity Base 51 is set to be one of those based at the site. Sara Harraway, director and interior design lead at CPMG, the architectural firm which will be leading on the project, said: 'While the existing brutalist design will be loved by some and deemed not so visually appealing to others, this 'brutal beauty' will be set to make a real difference.
