Loose Women star Coleen Nolan was visibly emotional as she bid farewell to her sister Linda at her funeral on Saturday. The service was held at St Paul's Church in Blackpool, attended by a large gathering of family, friends, and fans mourning the loss of the beloved star, who passed away at the age of 65 on January 15th.A wave of applause washed over the crowd as the hearse carrying Linda's pink glittery coffin arrived at the church.
Linda's sisters, Anne, Maureen, Coleen, and Denise, who famously formed the singing group The Nolans with their late sister Bernie, led the procession into the church alongside other family members. Coleen, a regular panellist on Loose Women, was seen wiping tears from her eyes with a tissue, dressed in a long black dress paired with a glamorous fur jacket and a pink breast cancer ribbon pinned to her collar. Linda, a tireless advocate and fundraiser for cancer awareness, had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, undergoing a mastectomy. She received the all-clear in 2011, but in 2017, she was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer, which tragically spread to her liver in 2020 and her brain in 2023. Other mourners also dressed in black, with some opting for pink accessories like handbags, lining the path as the coffin, adorned with a floral arrangement, was carried into the church. Denise, Linda's older sister, delivered the eulogy, sharing heartfelt memories of her sister's vibrant personality and love for the limelight. She remarked that Linda would have cherished the attention and affection shown to her on that day. Linda frequently appeared on Loose Women alongside her sister Coleen. After news of her passing broke, Coleen, who was by her sister's side when she died, penned a touching tribute on Instagram. 'I am utterly devastated by the passing of my sister, Linda,' she wrote. 'Linda was a beacon of love, kindness, and strength. Her wit, humour, and laughter were infectious, her presence could light up any room. Linds had a heart full of compassion and always knew how to bring comfort and joy to those around her. Her memory will live on in the many lives she touched, and while we will miss her more than words can express, we take solace in the love and warmth she shared with all of us. Rest in peace, Linda.
