Mum-of-four Coleen Rooney shared how her relationship with Wayne started
The pair first met as 12 years olds in the same friendship group in Croxteth. Wayne's mum also worked as a cleaner in the girls' comprehensive school which Coleen attended.
In her new Disney+ series, charting the "Wagatha" saga and the high profile court case that followed, Coleen revealed that her dad's piece of dating advice sparked her romance with Wayne. In the documentary, the 37-year-old said she was "shy"about boys when she was a teenager and loved Wayne's "cheekiness" during their first date.
"Back then I was a bit shy when it came to boys and I didn't talk to my dad about boys but I remember him saying, don't ever chase a lad, let him do the chasing. I was 16 when I first ever went on a date with Wayne. I found him funny and I found the cheekiness quite charming."
