Bannsiders look to build a 'sustainable and successful club' as they move into full-time era
Coleraine FC CEO Simon Magee has explained the club's rationale with the seismic restructuring behind the scenes at the Bannsiders. As we reported earlier this week long-term boss Oran Kearney has moved to become of Sporting Director at The Showgrounds.
The club's new CEO, Simon Magee, echoed those sentiments saying he felt the duo could be "a good team together". He said: “We wanted to change the structure to separate the roles of head coach and sporting director because it's such a big deal. We felt Oran had the expertise in that area, having the experience and contacts from his time in Scotland.
Shiels, whose father Kenny managed Coleraine in the mid-1990s, said it was important for everyone to pull together to help bring success to the club once more. He said: “What I want the most is fans coming up the road really looking forward to coming to games and having that connection.
