Colin Farrell completed the Dublin marathon on Sunday in just over four hours while pushing his friend Emma Fogarty in a wheelchair for the last four kilometres of the race
Colin Farrell looked emotional as he completed the Dublin Marathon while pushing his friend, Emma Fogarty, in a wheelchair. The Voyagers star ran the marathon on Sunday, 27 October to support Emma, who has the rare skin condition epidermolysis bullosa , which causes causes fragile, blistering skin.
"I have known Emma for many years and she epitomises bravery, she is what courage and pure determination are all about," it said. He continued, reflecting on the powerful moment they shared together: "That run was nothing compared to the pain she is forced to endure every single day, even though she doesn’t show it. It was an honour to see her waiting for me with four kilometres to go, each of those representing a decade of her life, and to do the final stretch together.
Colin opened up to the Daily Mail, admitting that his son James' wellbeing was the driving force behind his battle to go sober. "James was two when I got sober," he said.
