Colman Domingo reveals that he chose to wear a white cape to the Met Gala on Monday in honor of the late Chadwick Boseman and fashion journalist André Leon Talley.

The actor told the outlet that this year marks his first time at the Met Gala, and as such he "wanted to honor these brothers who were here before me as well."he was excited to sit with tablemates Cardi B and Erykah Badu. "I've never met Cardi B and I'm really gagging," he said. "I think I might just expire right there at the table."
The theme of this year's event is “The Garden of Time,” paired with the new Met exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion." Domingo wore a custom Willy Chavarria creation that features black calla lilies on his white suit, mirroring the bouquet of real white lilies he held in his hand.
