Local residents believe the severe weather conditions, particularly the steep, hilly streets, are hindering bin wagon access. Pendle Council has assured residents on social media that a team will be dispatched tomorrow (Wednesday, January 22nd) to collect the uncollected waste. However, many residents remain skeptical. Christina expresses doubt about the council's commitment, stating, 'I don't think they'll come. I've got bags of plastic in my back yard as well, because I thought whilst I'm waiting for them to come, I can ask them to get rid of that as well. There will be rats won't there? There's rats everywhere around here anyway.' James and Dana, another couple residing on the same street, share similar frustrations. They are particularly concerned about the lack of recycling collection, which has been disrupted since before the snowstorm.
