ENGLEWOOD , Colo. — The Sheridan School District No. 2 is working with the University of Colorado College of Nursing to train teachers and staff members on how to use naloxone, a drug designed to rapidly reverse the opioid overdoses .
“In the last year, since COVID, we've had a few students in the district who have lost their lives or lost family members related to overdoses," said Alexis Barrere, CU College of Nursing senior instructor and pediatric nurse practitioner.
Barrere said she hopes equipping students, teachers, and parents with tools will help students feel safer and also save lives. The Follow UpWhat do you want Denver7 to follow up on? Is there a story, topic or issue you want us to revisit? Let us know with the contact form below.
